Burano is one of the islands in the Venetian Lagoon – the largest lagoon in Italy. Obviously, most of the tourists visit Venice, however, it is worth leaving the city of lovers to see other islands of that part of the world. Burano is not as well known and noble as Venice, nevertheless, it is not less charming. The town is located on the four islands spanned by bridges and colorful facades of fishermen’s houses are characteristic for the local landscape. The town is also famous for its lacework – the local lace is considered a luxury product. When walking along colorful streets it is worth drinking a glass of the regional wine called “ombra”, i.e. shadow.
