Hvar is a town situated on the island of the same name, which is located on the south of Croatia, in the region called Dalmatia. Despite being small, the town boasts the largest town square in Dalmatia. Its main part is called the Pjaca and covers the area of 4,500 m2. The square is surrounded by beautiful tenement houses and public utility buildings that were built between the 15th and 17th centuries. The Cathedral of St. Stephen is the most outstanding edifice among all the buildings on the square. It has a high belfry that is characteristic for the Mediterranean sacral architecture. Tourists, who visit Hvar is big numbers, willingly relax in cafes around the Pjaca enjoying delicacies of the local cuisine.
