Vernazza is a small and charming town located in the Italian Liguria, in the province of La Spezia. Together with four other towns (Monterosso, Riomaggiore, Corniglia and Manarola) it the part of the area called Cinque Terre, the rugged portion of land on the coast of the Ligurian Sea. Dense housing comprising small colorful houses and narrow streets blends in very nicely with rocks overgrown by vegetation and turquoise water. Tourists may enjoy white dry Vino de la Cinque Terre in small taverns. The port and beach are the busiest parts of the town. The dome crowning the belfry of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia church stands out in the background of the town from the direction of the sea.
