Beautiful town of Positano is located on two picturesque cliffs on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Colorful facades of houses are characteristic for this town located on the coast of Amalfi. The houses create a unique mosaic in the background of green and steep hills that grow from the turquoise waters of the coast. The dense housing is dominated by the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Its glistening dome is covered with ceramic tiles arranged in diamond-shape patterns. There is the 13th-century icon of Black Madonna in the church. Black Madonna is often mentioned in local legends.
