Las Vegas is the city located in the south-west of the United States and is known all over the world as the capital of gambling, city of entertainment, lights and fast weddings. Las Vegas got its fame in the late 19th century when the state of Nevada (the first in the US) legalized gambling. The decision turned out to be very profitable as the profits that flowed into the city coffers from legitimate bets allowed to create a network of public schools. Currently, revenues from taxes on gambling account for almost half of the budgets of the city and still a lot of money is allocated to education. It is worth to remember that Las Vegas is not just neon lights, roulette, and all-night revelry.
