Arad is the Romanian city on the river Mures, located in the west of the country, near the border with Hungary. Arad has the oldest tram line in Romania. A-century-old Roman Catholic cathedral of St. Anthony of Padua is one of the most important buildings located in the city. A white facade of the temple nicely contrasts with a green dome crowning its 56-meter tower. Opposite the church, on the other side of the square, there is the nineteenth-century theatre.
