Hermitage in the Galata Monastery in Iassy (Romania) online puzzle
The Galata Monastery was built in the16th century on the outskirts of the city of Iassy in north-eastern Romania near the border with Moldova. It was founded by the Moldovan master Peter VI the Lame, a native of Wallachia, which was reflected in the architecture of the building. It refers not only to Moldovan patterns, but also the influence of traditional Wallachian construction is clearly visible there. The monastery covers a rather large area surrounded by a defensive wall with a bell tower. In its center there is an Orthodox church, a palace of the ruler was erected nearby, as well as a residential building for monks and a hermitage – a place of reflection and tranquility.
