The railway and motorway cable-stayed bridge above the Øresund Strait is 7845 meters long and connects two Scandinavian countries. The bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö was put into use in 2000. During the official opening of the bridge Denmark was represented by Prince Frederick and Sweden by Princess Victoria. Members of both royal families met in the middle of the bridge. The bridge is also depicted in the Swedish-Danish crime series, which has been broadcast since September 2011. The series even got an American remake.
