Sighisoara is a small Romanian town, located in the historic region of Transylvania. The central part of the town has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved medieval towns in east-central Europe. Apart from religious and secular architecture, the town has also preserved fortifications with the system of soaring gothic towers as well as one of the biggest tourist attractions of the town – a house in which, according to the legend, Dracula was born. Adventurous tourists may try to find traces of the world’s most famous vampire, whereas the sobersides may enjoy walking along narrow, colorful streets.
